From the Lonedo villas to the giant chessboard

A tour of the Vicentine countryside to see two splendid Veneto villas and the walled city of Marostica with a stop at, or rather on, the giant chess board where the chess game with living pieces is played out.
ne of the villas included in the tour was the first country residence designed by Andrea Palladio, and is frescoed in the style of the period. The magic atmosphere of its rooms struck Luchino Visconti who chose it for the setting of his film ‘Senso’. The tour will also include a walk through the villas beautiful gardens , and a chance to view the fossil collection housed there.
This tour may also include a stop at a wine cellar in Breganze.
