medieval town and hotel Due MoriThe Due Mori is the only hotel on the inside of Marostica's medieval walls, and can be found just a few steps from the Piazza where the town's renowned living-pieces chess match is played out. This design hotel with its spacious rooms, private parking and underground garage has all the modern comforts and amenities to ensure a pleasant stay for business travellers and holidaymakers alike. Positioned in the heart of Veneto, Marostica is the ideal place for a relaxing romantic holiday or for a trip of artistic discovery. The nearby cities of Vicenza, Venice, Padua, Verona, Treviso, and Bassano del Grappa will captivate visitors with their charm, and their considerable collection of masterpieces by the likes of Palladio, Tiziano, Veronese, Canova and Tiepolo. Scores of breathtaking Veneto villas sprinkled through the surrounding countryside are another attraction which guests may like to visit, either alone or in the company of a friendly, well-informed guide.

Originally an Eighteenth Century Venetian town house, the Due Mori has been renovated in a style which is both modern and refined. Elegance, great attention to detail and an enviable position inside the heart of the medieval town centre make the hotel every traveller's dream.

The old "Sotoportego" is now home to the hotel's restaurant of the same name. Sotoportego combines the best in Veneto and Italian cuisine with a refined and modern dining atmosphere. Polenta, Baccalà (traditionally prepared stockfish) white asparagus, sopressa (a salami-type sausage) radicchio, and Asiago cheese are only some of the ingredients used by the chef in his creation of delicious meat and fish dishes. D.o.c wines of Breganze, Gambellara, Soave, Valpolicella, and from other renowned Italian and International wine producing regions provide the perfect accompaniment to the menu.

A tourist guide is always on hand for those wishing to explore the surrounding area, and will be happy to give information on the sights in Vicenza, Marostica, Bassano del Grappa, Thiene, and Schio, or to accompany groups on various specialised trips. The masterpieces of Andrea Palladio, the most picturesque corners of Marostica, Veneto villas, the secrets of ceramics , or of grappa are some of the tours on offer to the curious visitor.
